Well, it seems that the race in OH-18 could be more encouraging for Democrats than I had originally thought; however it is important to remember that this polling was conducted for the Zack Space Campaign.
U.S. News and World Report noted yesterday that an indictment against Congressman Bob Ney (R-OH) may actually aid him to re-election. While the same story claims GOP sources will urge Ney to resign if indicted, it also cites recent polling showing Ney to have a slight lead over Democratic challenger Zack Space.
Apparently, 42 Democrats in the US House are more concerned with re-election than with the blood of 2500 US Marines and soldiers. They have essentially consented to the Republican talking points that Iraq somehow is connected to 9/11, that Saddam Hussein was a direct threat to American security and freedom, and that $1 trillion for an unjustifiable war is well worth the cost.
After great thought, contemplation, and soul-searching, I am announcing that I cannot vote for ANY candidate, Democrat or Republican, for the national races in November. I live in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia (part of the WV-01), and I cannot, in good conscience, support either incumbents Rep. Alan B. Mollohan or Sen. Robert C. Byrd for re-election. Below, I will provide my explanation.
WARNING! THESE RESULTS ARE SUBJECT TO SUDDEN CHANGE AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS AT TIMES.

There's no such thing as a permanent tax cut. It's a very simple fact that seems to have been overlooked by most after hearing the misleading idea from the Bush Administration over the last five years. And, unfortunately, Democrats have failed to capitalize on the "lie" of a permanent tax cut.
I have recently returned from the Rally for Respect and Reverence held to counter-protest the statements and actions of the Westboro Baptist Church and its leader, Fred Phelps, in regard to the death of US soldiers in Iraq. The Rally was held at the funeral of West Virginia native Sgt. Matthew Hunter on Saturday, February 4 in West Alexander, Pennsylvania.
Well, here we go again. Just weeks after holding protests during the funerals of Sago Mine Disaster victims, Reverend Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church again plans to protest --- at the funeral of a West Virginia soldier killed in action on January 23.
My Democratic state representative, West Virginia House of Delegates Assistant Majority Whip Tim Ennis (D-Brooke Co.), recently introduced House Joint Resolution 106 - the "Marriage Protection Amendment" - to codify a ban on any formal, recognized union between same-sex couples in West Virginia.
RawStory has received a leaked copy of the Justice Department's forty page legal memorandumsupporting the notion that NSA-conducted, Bu$h-authorized warrantless wiretaps are both legal and constitutional.
Infamous Congressman Bob Ney (R-OH) purchased this ad for the Sunday, December 4 edition (page A7) of the Wheeling (WV) News-Register. Readers should note that the News-Register is strongly pro-Republican and essentially ignored the Ney-Abramoff story until two months ago.
I have lived either in Ohio or within 5 miles of Ohio my entire life. I am young enough to be relatively unfamiliar with the Celeste Administration but old enough to remember the Voinovich Administration. In those years, I can recall no greater anti-Republican sentiment in Ohio. Mr. Hackett must not limit himself in this race. He shouldn't entirely focus on Greater Cincinnati or Cleveland early in the campaign; he should come to eastern Ohio. Jefferson, Belmont, Monroe, and Columbiana counties typically go 55%+ Democrat. Congressman Strickland (who represents a portion of these counties) will have a possibly contentious primary battle with Columbus Mayor Mike Coleman, and I am not certain that State Sen. Charlie Wilson (still first term) would have enough clout to win Mr. Strickland's current district.
With all the hubbub about Harriet Miers's nomination, it is time that a truly secular liberal speak out against her. As such, I call for the filibuster of the nomination.
